After 118 years, the bells of the Filandia parish will be modernized After 118 years, the bells of the Filandia parish will be modernized

The Immaculate Conception parish of Filandia was subjected to maintenance and improvement work, including the acquisition of a new system for the bells.

After almost 118 years, these elements that made this temple unique and that were not foreign to the population, will be replaced in order to give the place a new look.

This building began its construction phase in 1895 with the priest Jesús María Restrepo, and was completed in 1905 when its parish priest was Francisco de Paula Montoya, during that same period it was established as a parish.

The building is recognized as one of the oldest that preserves eclectic Romanesque architecture with Gothic elements. Its construction is made of bahareque and lined with sheet metal, arches, columns and wooden ceiling.

But its bells are also unique, stories and myths have emerged from them, and they undoubtedly adorn the main tempo of the 'Illuminated Hill'.
